2017 Tree Planting - with The Nature Conservancy at Edge of Applachia OVFF is teaming up with The Nature Conservancy to plant Chestnut trees at Edge of Applachia The OVFF will be helping The Nature Conservancy to plant 500 American Chestnut seedlings at the Edge of Appalachia nature preserve. We are looking for volunteers to help with the tree planting and enjoy the beauty of a day at the nature preserve. Where: Meet at the Eulett Center, 4274 Waggoner Riffle Rd., West Union Ohio 45693 - about 1 1/2 hrs. east of Cincinnati. When: March 18th & 25th (planting prep work - tree tube shelters assembled and stakes set), April 8th (tree planting) Time: Meet at the Eulett Center 9:30 AM then drive to parking area (30 mins, and rough road - can carpool) then hike one mile uphill to planting site. We will work till 3:00 and have a break for lunch and beauty. Make sure you have hiking boots, work gloves, water bottle and a lunch. We hope you will join us and bring a friend or make a new friend. We've got 5200 tree seedlings and we are teaming up with the Federated Garden Clubs of Cincinnati again to count, bag and box them for our annual spring tree giveaway through our Public Libraries and other groups. As always, we're counting on you, so please lend a hand! Its great working together to help kids discover the rewards of planting trees, and as usual, we'll have extra tree seedlings available to volunteers, so please bring a friend or come and make a friend.
