Apr 2, 2011, 9am-2pm: OVFF assists to Reforest Woodland Mound Park!

This year, we will be planting 450 mixed hardwood seedlings with deer protectors at this beautiful Hamilton County park overlooking the Ohio River valley. We will be replacing trees that have been damaged by the Ash Borers. Come and help replant an old forest. This a great way to enjoy the outdoors with friends, new and old. Stay to enjoy other activities in the park.

Directions: The address is 8250 Old Kellogg Rd. From I-275, go west on Rt. 125 (Beechmont Ave.), left on Nordyke Road to park entrance on the right. Also accessible via U.S. 52 left on Eight Mile Road, right on Old Kellogg to park entrance on left. Look for the OVFF banner and other signs directing you to the planting site.

We'll be planting small bare rooted seedlings - no heavy lifting required! If you've never seen the quick method foresters use to plant seedlings, you'll be impressed. Boots and gloves are recommended, tools will be available. Lunch and drinks will be provided.

Mark your calender! Don't worry if you can't come early or spend more that an hour or so; We always work tag-team style with volunteers coming and going throughout the day.
